Sunscreen Ingredients:

As I wrote this article, I learnt a lot about the various ingredients to look for and to stay away from in the sunscreen family and I think it is a knowledge I have to share with the rest of you.

  • Benzone based sunscreen, especially oxybenzone, penetrates through the skin rapidly and flows into our bloodstream and most importantly it has a relatively higher rate of skin allergy. More studies are carried out on deciding its future in the sunscreen business
  • Homosalate, another commonly found ingredient might be involved in causing breakouts and this too shall be absorbed into the bloodstream efficiently. The fate of the same is being decided as well
  • Avobenzone, best ingredient for a non mineral based sunscreen, it is quite effective against the sun but might be cause for skin breakouts and such
  • Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, owning the sunscreen industry are these minerals that do not seem to penetrate into the bloodstream and concerns with skin allergies and breakouts have been less too. The only concern with this has been regarding inhalation concerns

Conclusion:

Sunscreens are mandatory to keep your skin youthful and away from the perils of sun rays and environmental pollutants.
